Chapter History
In the spring of 2002, Delta Gamma presented NC State with a bid to colonize during the Fall 2002 semester. When the Fall Semester began, Delta Gamma representatives began to recruit bright, enthusiastic young women. On September 24th, an open event was held at Talley Student Center. The next day, September 25th, the representatives conducted one on one interviews with the interested women, and on September 26th, a preference party was held at University Club with the Duke "Beta Theta" chapter. Finally on September 27th, the much anticipated bid day was held. Seventy- six women with a cumulative colony GPA of 3.2 were chosen to be the Eta Kappa colony.
The colony's first meeting was on September 29th and the 76 women began their exciting new member period. The first election of the colony was on October 1st, where the Chapter Management Team was chosen. On November 2nd, Delta Gamma placed 2nd in the Homecoming Banner competition beating out all other sororities! On November 17, 2002 initiation was held and 76 new Delta Gammas were added to the books. Afterwards, there was an Installation Banquet where the new chapter received their charter.
